How to Choose a Gym Duffle That Keeps Clean and Dirty Kit Apart
The problem with most gym bags
Think about what actually goes into a gym bag. Clean clothes you want to wear afterwards. Shoes that have been on a gym floor. A towel that will be damp within an hour. A bottle that might leak. A phone, keys, maybe a padlock.

Looking after it
The care routine is simple and takes about a minute. After each session, open the wet pocket and the shoe section and let them air. Leave the main zip open too if you can. Damp fabric sealed in a closed bag is what causes odour, and it builds up faster than most people realise.
For cleaning, spot clean the outer with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap, then air dry it away from radiators or direct sun. The PU leather handles want a soft dry cloth, not a soak, since heavy wetting can affect any coated leather finish over time.
Do not put the bag in a washing machine or tumble dryer. The foam lining and structured panels are not designed for that, and you will lose the shape that makes the bag useful. Bleach is also out.
Two small habits help a lot. Keep your shoes in a thin cloth bag inside the shoe compartment, which makes cleanup easier. And empty the bottle holder before you throw the bag in the car, because a half-closed bottle on its side will find the one gap the water resistance does not cover.
A few honest limits
The maker does not list a padded laptop sleeve, so if you carry a laptop daily, use a separate protective sleeve or pick a bag built for it.
It is water resistant rather than waterproof. Rain on the walk to the car is fine. A downpour at the bus stop with no shelter is pushing it. We would rather tell you that than fill the gap with a guess.
